SwiftCart Multi-vendor E-Commerce Platform

SwiftCart India

Retail & eCommerce eCommerce

The problem

SwiftCart wanted to launch a multi-vendor marketplace in 90 days but lacked technical resources. The platform needed to handle high traffic, complex vendor payouts, and multiple payment gateways from day one.

Key challenges

Building a scalable architecture that handles flash sales with 10,000+ concurrent users, implementing real-time inventory across 500 vendors, automated multi-gateway payment routing, and a sub-100ms product search experience.

Our solution

We built a microservices-inspired architecture using Next.js for SSR/SSG, a Node.js API layer, MongoDB for flexible product catalogues, and Redis for caching. Elasticsearch powered the search. Stripe Connect managed vendor payouts.

Technology used

Next.js 14, Node.js 20, MongoDB Atlas, Redis Cloud, Elasticsearch, Stripe Connect, AWS CloudFront, S3, Lambda for image processing

Implementation

Agile sprints: Sprint 1-2: Vendor onboarding, product catalogue. Sprint 3-4: Cart, checkout, payment. Sprint 5-6: Vendor dashboard, analytics. Sprint 7-8: Performance tuning, load testing, launch.

The outcome

Launched in 87 days, 500+ vendors onboarded in month 1, platform handles 10K concurrent users, ₹2Cr+ monthly GMV by month 3, 99.97% uptime.
