The problem
TechMed operated across 3 hospital branches with no centralised system—patient records were paper-based, appointments were managed in spreadsheets, and billing was manual, leading to errors and long patient wait times.
Key challenges
Integrating 3 separate branch databases with real-time sync, ensuring secure medical data storage, migrating 10 years of paper records, and training 200+ staff members on the new system with zero disruption to patient care.
Our solution
We designed a cloud-native HMS on AWS with Laravel backend and Vue.js frontend. Branch synchronisation was achieved via a dedicated sync service with conflict resolution. Paper records were digitised using OCR. A phased rollout minimised disruption.

Laravel 10, Vue.js 3, MySQL 8.0, Redis for caching, AWS EC2 + RDS + S3, HL7 FHIR for interoperability, Laravel Echo + Pusher for real-time updates
Implementation
Phase 1 (Month 1-2): Core patient registration, appointment module. Phase 2 (Month 3): EMR, pharmacy. Phase 3 (Month 4): Lab, billing. Phase 4 (Month 5-6): Branch integration, training, go-live.
